The Torchbearer Project invites our generation to be that bridge for those yet to come.
About the Project
At its heart, The Torchbearer Project is a century-long family time capsule created by and for our extended family. It encompasses all the Ridge Haven family lines: Carr, Dragoo, Henson, Collins, Davis, Guzzo, Jenkins, Freshwater, Grimes.
Each of us carries a light — a torch of memory, experience, and wisdom — that only we can share. Through this project, we preserve that light in our own words, ensuring our voices, stories, and reflections endure across generations.
These letters — reflections, blessings, and pieces of advice — will be preserved at Ridge Haven Heritage Site, forming a living archive of who we are today.

A Hundred-Year Journey
The Torchbearer Project spans one full century. On December 2, 2125, our descendants will open the time capsule and discover our world — our handwriting, our words, our lives.
To ensure that moment happens, three Torchbearers will be appointed in every generation.
Every twenty years, each Torchbearer will select a successor, passing along the stewardship and responsibility to keep the project alive.
When the capsule is opened in 2125, the appointed Torchbearers will decide how to share the collection — perhaps as a book, documentary, digital archive, or even a renewed capsule for the next hundred years.
A Living Legacy
Ridge Haven exists to preserve the stories, letters, and artifacts that hold our family’s collective memory. The Torchbearer Project is an extension of that mission — an invitation for every family member to contribute to something enduring.
Together, we are shaping a legacy that connects the past to the present and the present to the future — ensuring that our family’s voice continues to live, connect, and inspire for generations to come.
