Fruit of the Family Tree

March 25, 2026 · by: JnK Davis

Family trees begin with roots. But eventually they grow sturdy trunks, stretch out their branches, and blossom into names, faces, stories, and memories. Some branches are well known. Others are a little mysterious. And now and then, tucked among the leaves, one finds a beautiful fruit.

Ridge Haven is delighted to announce that our family tree has borne some digital fruit, so to speak. Family members may now request access to heritage albums and other family history materials online, making it easier than ever to climb higher and explore deeper into the canopy.

There are two ways to begin your climb:

You may go directly to the Ridge Haven Library catalog by clicking on this link.

You may also visit our Ridge Haven Library page by clicking on this link.

On the library page, you will find instructions and helpful information about using the library and catalog. You can even search directly from the library page.

As you browse the catalog, keep an eye out for items tagged “digital.” Or you can go directly to the digital collection offerings by clicking on this link.

When you find a digitally accessible title that catches your eye, simply click the link marked: “Ask Ridge Haven about this title.” That sends word to us that a family member would like to access the title. We will then send you the access information and you can begin your journey.

Leaves, Limbs, and Little Discoveries…

We like to think of the Ridge Haven Library as a kind of family orchard—full of sturdy trunks, old roots, surprising branches, and the occasional hidden apple waiting to be plucked.

While some of the heritage treasures wait patiently on shelves, others can now travel by way of the internet, fluttering out like leaves on the breeze to reach cousins, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and all who want to know more about the people and stories that have shaped our family.

Whether you are tracing a familiar branch or venturing out onto a new limb of the family tree, we want to help you get the most out of your climb – and by all means, enjoy yourself!

There is a great deal to discover among the roots and branches of Ridge Haven. So come shake the family tree a little and see what falls into your hands—an old photograph, a remembered name, a forgotten story, perhaps even a small piece of yourself.

The roots are deep. The canopy is wide. And there is always room for one more discovery.
